Centrapay
What is Centrapay?
BNZ and Centrapay have partnered to create an open banking solution called Payap.
Payap allows customers to connect their payments and loyalty programs in one place, enabling them to scan and pay using the Centrapay QR code displayed on screen.
It’s a cost-effective way to accept digital payments using your existing EFTPOS or PayClip terminal - no extra hardware required.
Enabling Centrapay
To enable Centrapay as a payment method:
- Open the POS app.
- Navigate to Settings → Payment Options.
- Toggle on Centrapay.
Note: This setting applies site-wide — it cannot be enabled for individual stations.
Once Centrapay is enabled, your business will need a ConfigID to activate your Centrapay connection. This ID securely links your Beamy account with Centrapay’s Payap service.
Adding Your ConfigID
- Go to bridge.beamy.nz and log in to your business account.
- Navigate to the Settings page.
- Under Trading Details, find the Centrapay section.
- Enter your ConfigID in the provided field.
If your business doesn’t yet have a ConfigID, we can help get one for you.
Simply email support@beamy.nz with your company name and contact details, and we’ll help you get a personalized company ID issued by Centrapay.
Once your ConfigID has been verified, you’ll be all set to accept Payap payments through Centrapay!
Payment Flow
Once Centrapay is enabled, using it is as easy as any other payment method.
- Add the customer’s items to the cart.
- To display the Centrapay QR code:
- The customer can tap the Centrapay button on the POS Companion app, or
- The staff member can press the Centrapay button from the POS screen.
- The customer scans the QR code using their camera, a QR scanner app, or the Centrapay app.
- Once payment is confirmed, the transaction is sent back to Beamy POS.
- The staff member finalises the transaction - and you’re done!
Tips
- If the QR code doesn’t scan, ensure the screen brightness is high and there are no reflections.
- If a payment fails, check that your internet connection is stable and retry the transaction.
- Transactions made via Centrapay will appear in your Sales History like any other payment method.
