Set Up Requirements

Before launching your Beamy system, make sure the following requirements are met to ensure everything runs smoothly and efficiently.

Business Readiness

Running Beamy POS effectively starts with operational preparedness:

• Positive Mindset: A willingness to embrace new systems and adapt to a modern POS environment.
• Defined Operations: Have your menu, pricing structure, and service model clearly mapped out.
• Staff Preparedness: Ensure your team is confident using tablets, taking orders, and processing payments.
• Business Information: Be ready to enter your company name, trading hours, region, and GST number during setup.
• Regulatory Compliance: Understand local requirements such as public holiday surcharges, refund policies, and taxation rules.

A well-prepared business leads to a smoother and faster setup.

Tablets

Tablets are required to run Beamy’s Point of Sale (POS), Kitchen Display System (KDS), and Companion apps. Beamy supports both iOS and Android tablets.

We recommend:

• iOS Tablets: iOS version 15.7.9 or higher
• Android Tablets: Android version 5 or higher

For the best experience, use modern tablets with up-to-date operating systems.

Wi-Fi Router & Internet

A stable internet connection is essential for device syncing, order management, and real-time updates. All devices—including POS, KDS, printers, and EFTPOS terminals—must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

Poor connectivity can lead to performance issues or failed transactions.

EFTPOS Terminal

A compatible EFTPOS machine is required to process payments. Be sure to confirm support and integration with your EFTPOS provider before setup.

Brother Printer

Beamy supports Brother label printers for generating order and takeaway labels. These printers connect via Wi-Fi and integrate directly with the KDS for smooth kitchen workflows.

Additional Hardware

Depending on your setup, you may also want to include:

• Cash drawers
• Barcode scanners
• Receipt printers
