KDS Printing
Beamy’s Kitchen Display System (KDS) supports integrated printing via compatible Brother label printers. These are typically used for printing order labels in takeaway or kitchen environments. Below is a guide to help you connect your printer and resolve common issues.
Connecting a Brother Printer
You can connect a Brother printer directly through the KDS settings.
- Open the KDS app and tap the spanner icon to access settings.
- Select Search for Printers – a loading icon will appear.
- When the printer is found, tap to connect.
- Choose the correct label size to match the printer model and roll you're using.
Make sure your KDS tablet and printer are on the same Wi-Fi network before starting.
Troubleshooting Steps
If you're having issues with your printer, try the following:
Check the basics:
- Is the printer plugged in properly?
- Is it low or out of labels?
- Have you tried turning the printer off and back on?
Check Wi-Fi status:
- If the Wi-Fi indicator is pulsing, open the printer's Settings → WLAN.
- Toggle Wi-Fi off and on again.
Still not working?
- Repeat the connection steps from the beginning — sometimes the printer may require more than one attempt to establish a stable connection.
If problems persist, consult the Brother printer’s manual or contact Beamy support for assistance.
